Greetings!
THIS IS YOUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTO GUIDE!
Experience has prepared us that an organized you means a happier you. So with that in mind, the more prepared you are, the better this session is going to be! Prepare to have a lot of fun, and to make fun of my photo excitement. I promise I will probably bust a proverbial breakdance move at least once!
These sessions are our absolute favorite because we love all the one-on-one time we get with you! There is no pressure because it's about getting away from the day-to-day and reconnecting with yourselves. The goal of your engagement session is to capture your relationship, how you move together and interact with each other. You’ll be warmed up in front of the camera in no time!
Let's start with location
Your engagement photos should tell the unique story of your love, and that starts with choosing the right location. Ditch the places you wouldn't normally be caught in (e.g. something you don't usually do).
Instead, focus on places that spark joy and reflect your shared passions. Hike hand-in-hand through a scenic trail that reminds you of your adventurous spirits. Or, if you're the ultimate city duo, capture the urban energy of your favorite rooftop bar with panoramic views.
Remember, these photos are about celebrating your love, not conforming to expectations. Be bold, be you!
Feeling stuck? That's where I come in! As long as you have a general vibe in mind, I'll help you find the perfect spot. We can even combine locations, as long as they're close enough (no marathon commutes during your love shoot!).
Let's paint your love story with light and laughter, in a place that feels like home.
What to wear
Ditch the urge to revamp your wardrobe and embrace your existing gems. Confidence is key, and rocking clothes you love will boost that camera presence. Plus, why buy new when you can relive the joy of your favorite pieces?
Location awareness Flowy dresses might not conquer waterfalls, and heels can be tricky on rocky terrain. Dress for movement, but pack comfortable alternatives if your signature look involves stilettos or boots.
Be you. If you're a jeans-and-tee kind of couple, skip the forced fancy get ups. Comfort and confidence shine through in photos, so wear what you love. These pictures are about your authentic love story, not someone else's Pinterest board.
Tame the prints. Solid colors are generally more flattering and cohesive than loud patterns. If you crave a pop of personality, choose bold shoes or accessories instead of a printed logo explosion.
Neutral magic. Start with a neutral base (think beige, navy, or grey) and build from there. These tones are flattering and allow you to add pops of color through accessories.
Weather-proof your style. Pack a cute coat for chilly days or an umbrella for spontaneous showers. Be prepared to adjust to the elements without sacrificing your fabulousness.
Coordinate, no need to twin. Matching outfits are a bit cliché. Instead, choose complementary looks that fit the same vibe. Imagine you're both heading to the same event – that's the kind of cohesive style you want.
Nothing wrong with inspiration! Get inspiration from engagement photo boards and send me your outfit ideas for feedback. Remember, when in doubt, I'll be here to help.
We're ready for this!
I believe in capturing authentic, unscripted moments that truly reflect your love story. Let's ditch the formalities and embrace spontaneity. Bring along your favorite music, get cozy with each other, and let your personalities shine through. This session is all about celebrating your unique bond, so feel free to incorporate meaningful props too. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me a message!
